JUST THE FACTS

Participants - 15 (4 from Kansas City, Missouri; 11 from Evergreen, Colorado- 6 of them in the playshop, 5 of them on the Dream Team). All participants were affiliated with a Unity church (Mountain Light Unity -- Evergreen, CO; Unity Temple on the Plaza, Unity Village Chapel, and Unity School of Christianity --all Kansas City, MO area).

Hike - 15 participants hiked Mt Bierstadt, a 14,060 foot mountain. We gained 2,770 feet in elevation and climbed 6 miles from the Guanella pass Trailhead. Twelve of the participants made it to the summit and three turned around 3/4 of the way up. This was the first 14er for several participants!

Prosperity Challenge - Four hikers opted to participate in the prosperity challenge which involved requesting and collecting sponsorship money for Unity. Each participating hiker raised 60% for Unity Rising and 40% for the New Thought ministry of their choice. Collectively, we raised $1,674 for Unity. Monies were disbursed to Unity Rising; Mountain Light Unity in Evergreen, CO; Unity Temple on the Plaza in Kansas City, MO; and Unity Center of Love and Light in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Lodging - The four out-of-town participants opted to stay in the homes of Mountain Light Unity congregants who were also participants.

Food - Breakfast and lunch were catered at the conference center and included in the price of the playshop. Snacks and lunch were provided to the hikers on Saturday. Group dinners were at local restaurants two evenings and at a congregant's home another evening. Vegetarian meals and accommodations for food allergies were made.

Cost - $155 (plus gas and two dinners, if relevant) for entire four-day trip.

Dream Team members participated for a free-will love offering.

Playshop Facilitation

The overall playshop was facilitated by Rev Kristin Powell with yoga and meditation facilitated by Rob Douglas.
